Hebrews 6:12 Then, knowing what lies ahead for you, you won’t become bored with being a Christian nor become spiritually dull and indifferent, but you will be anxious to follow the example of those who receive all that God has promised them because of their strong faith and patience.

I recently threw out this question to some teenage girls along with my connect group from the church I attend. The question was  – Do you believe that being a Christian, choosing God’s way is one of boredom? My question was pretty much met with a resounding YES. I was not surprised at all, I believe we have been so caught up with this temporary world and have not taken a minute to dwell in “our” world, the spiritual world so we assume that existing in what is unknown to us is boring.

I pause to think about the many adults who hold the same view which causes them to be on the “fence.” Being on the fence says we want the best of both worlds which takes away from the ability to experience and appreciate the world as we should as christians.

If I can share my experience, in a nutshell I too felt the same way. I thought that this temporary world offered me everything to complete me. I thought being estranged from this temporary world would cause me undue stress. I could not imagine letting go and allowing myself to experience what seemed to be a fantasy, and experience something that is beyond the understanding of a non-believer. Until… I realized that this world offers me nothing. I realized that this world, the one we hold dear is the fantasy, giving us a false sense of security found in things. A world that tells us we are in control when it’s really the opposite.

I could go on and on but I will not and in the same breath I will assure everyone reading this that we can be happy Christians. We have to be true believers fully convicted in order to experience this truth I am putting forward,fully convicted to understand this truth. There is nothing boring about being a Christian, choosing God’s way is when “fullness” of life begins. We become new creatures living in the world but not of the world. Don’t believe me… just allow God to open your eyes and heart to real living and see. We will walk in happiness knowing what lies ahead of us.
