Sunday Inspire – Waiting Is Not A Chore.

When I was younger, my mother would assign duties to us (her children). It was the worst part of growing up for me, as I hated doing chores. I had a bad attitude about them. I often wondered why life had to be so unfair, why did I need to clean my room and the kitchen, why? That was how I processed having to do chores; I complained, grumbled, and did not want to do them.

Complaining may be our attitude when we must wait on something we have prayed to receive. When we have to wait because things do not materialise within the timeframe we expect, the result is—complaining, grumbling, and a bad attitude.

That is when I had the flashback to my childhood, and I take this opportunity to say that waiting is not a chore that demands a disagreeable attitude. Instead, waiting screams the right attitude and a righteous stance. Everything about waiting demands goodness and positive behavior, knowing who we are, and knowing God who shows us the right way to live. If we are unable to recognize both, then we are in trouble.

Waiting asks us to be patient, trusting, and hopeful with the right expectations. Waiting requires us to believe and know, without a doubt, that things will happen when we enter into a place or an atmosphere that is conducive to the best possible outcome. Waiting demands our respect and reverence for our Holy Father; He knows the best thing for us. He knows the result that gives us the best advantage to succeed in this life.

What is your stance while waiting?

Cathy entered the Lounge area and immediately saw Sean, he waved her over and she walked towards him. She saw a couple that she knew from her church and waved to them as she walked by. Sean stood up as she approached the table, he had already ordered a drink and, he motioned to a waiter after she was seated.

“What would you like to drink?” Sean asked.

She told him whatever he was drinking. The waiter arrived and he ordered a glass of water. Cathy looked up surprised but immediately realized he was just playing with her; he ordered a lemonade and asked to get the menu. Cathy liked this side of him, the fact that he could be playful it made her forget that he was so accomplished and made him more relatable.
