Today our focus is on Matthew Chapter 2
The Star rising in the sky signified the birth of Jesus. Throughout Matthew chapter 2 we can see Satan at work (through Herod) trying to prevent a fulfillment of prophesy and so it is today. Satan keeps trying to prevent what God has ordained to take place in our lives. With the same aggression and callousness through Herod he murdered innocent children; this is precisely what is happening in the world today. A lot of what is taking place in the world stems from the enemy trying to prevent the good that he knows will supersede the evil that exists in the world today. It is alarming how we cannot see the constant battle for our souls. This battle has been declared on us from birth but I am thankful that we do have our God who clearly demonstrates to us through Jesus’ death that Satan cannot prevent the fulfillment of prophecy. He has no jurisdiction in our lives.
Try as he (Satan) may we will become the people of God we are destined from birth to become. Our purpose will be fulfilled on this earth; God is with us all the way. Sometimes we will not see clearly the road ahead that God has us on, but we need to become like Joseph (attuned to God’s voice) very aware of the danger and pitfalls that lay ahead of us. Through this Journey we have to rely on God to direct our lives. We have to be attuned to God’s voice that comes through the Holy Spirit within us. We cannot rely on man; we absolutely have to rely on God all the way.
Our eyes need to be opened to focus on every situation and be on watch for the signs that God gives us; just as he did for Joseph. Signs that tell us where to go and what our next move ought to be, it is a must for succeeding in this journey of life.
