Knowing God’s will for our Lives (Teachings from Matthew).

Today our focus is on Matthew Chapter 2

Matthew

The star rising in the sky signified the birth of Jesus. In Matthew chapter 2, we see Satan working through Herod to try and stop the fulfillment of prophecy. Today Satan is still at work, trying to prevent God’s plan for our lives. Just as Herod murdered innocent children to stop Jesus, evil forces today try to stop the good that God wants to bring into the world. It’s alarming that we often don’t see this constant battle for our souls. This battle has been waged against us since birth, but we have God on our side. Jesus’ death shows us that Satan cannot stop God’s plans. He has no power over our lives.

No matter how hard Satan tries, we will become the people God intended us to be. Our purpose will be fulfilled on this earth because God is with us. Sometimes, we might not see the road ahead clearly, but we need to be like Joseph, attuned to God’s voice and aware of the dangers and pitfalls that await us. We must rely on God to guide us through this journey and the Holy Spirit within us to help us hear God’s voice. We cannot rely on man; we must rely on God, completely.

Our eyes must open, focusing on every situation, and watching for God’s sign to us, just as He did for Joseph. These signs will let us know where to go and what our next move should be. Paying attention to these signs is essential for succeeding in this life.
