Separate State and Church?

Proverbs 25:5 (AMP) Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne will be established in righteousness (moral and spiritual rectitude in every area and relation).

Proverbs 14:34 (MSG) God-devotion makes a country strong; God-avoidance leaves people weak.

2 Chronicles 7:14 (TLB) then if my people will humble themselves and pray, and search for me, and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear them from heaven and forgive their sins and heal their land.

On the matter of separating state and church the bible tells us that in order for us to be prosperous, comfortable, at peace, free from fears and all worries then we need to be a nation that includes God. We need to be a nation that acknowledges that we are governed first and foremost by the Almighty God.

God devotion makes a country strong and when we avoid God it makes the country weak. This is a clear message to countries that are struggling and wondering why crime and poverty are running rampant.  Maybe we need to take a look at our moral values. How can a country prosper when the wicked are in governance? The wicked that are corrupt and have no moral value. Persons that are being led by a spirit of greed and selfishness.

We do not need to think too hard about this.

I recently read a statement from a Minister who affirmed his position on church and his governance. This declaration was strongly rejected and ridiculed by a significant portion of the persons who commented on his stance. The few who supported him were also ridiculed and told strongly that they were in support of “foolishness” and that state and church should be separate. It clearly demonstrates where the mass head-space is. As I read the atheistic comments I could not help but shake my head in disbelief . The forwardness and ways in which this group of people asserted themselves. Questioning why should they believe that God exists especially when He is absent in disastrous situations. I will say however that God is present in every situation. God does not make “bad things” happen. God gives each of us free will and as hard as it may be to understand, in every situation good or bad there is a lesson. Did we ever stop to think that there are situations which may seem good but hold a lot of bad?

Life is and life will always be and that is why we need to pray for God’s protection over our lives. We need to pray for God’s covering over our nation. The one verse that keeps me on my toes and makes everything crystal clear is Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV). For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

We need to refocus and see what is important. We need to understand what is imperative to our success as a people individually and as a nation. We need to stop ignoring God’s impact on our nation. Why can it work individually and not collectively? Why can’t we be like that well known investor who did not wake up one morning without being thankful? He made it very clear that that was a major contributor to his success in life. Being truly thankful and expressing gratitude to his creator on a daily basis. If it worked for him and many others I can only imagine that it will work for a nation…
