Prayer and Trust / Affirmation

James 5:16 (NIV)

The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

When the going gets tough and it seems the world is tumbling down around us we have the weapons of prayer and trust to help us through. When we feel close to defeat and despite all that we do there seems a dark cloud consistently looming overhead, prayer and trust will take us through. Life carries with it good and bad times that definitely will be a constant, but why is it we are never prepared mentally? It doesn’t matter how much we are aware of this; when the good times are with us, we take it for granted and when the bad times come upon us we crumble as if we never expected it.

I urge us to pray and trust during both times, the good and the bad. This will develop a consistent rhythmic pattern in us. This rhythmic pattern will cause stability in our hearts and in our minds. This rhythmic pattern will cause us to experience and appreciate life constantly in a hopeful and faith filled way, knowing that our God is very much aware of our situation and has it under control. We will know that there is nothing that prayer and trust will not take care of. We will know that there is nothing that effective prayer and trust will not heal. We have to stop half believing in God’s indescribable power. We have to stop trying to half-control the situation and surrender, believing that God is greater than our problems.

The challenges we go through are powerful testimonies to share with others the goodness of God. Powerful testimonies that give us an opportunity to magnify God and make him larger than life, leaving no doubt in the unbeliever’s mind. We should use our experiences and challenges to allow others to accept the Gospel of Christ and bring them into the glory of God. Introducing them to the awesomeness of eternal life available to them.

“Life is hard and difficult even for the best of us. Let us try to embrace the good with the bad that life gives us. Knowing that it is  a process that all believers will go through bringing them closer into the likeness of Christ”.

Affirm: God, we enlarge You in our vision right now.
Greater than our problems. Greater than our fears.
Greater than our insecurity, God, Greater than our failures,
And Lord we enlarge You greater than the enemy himself. Excerpt from the song  “Be magnified” by Fred Hammond.
