“God created us in His image (So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them—Gen 1:27), and He also made us for His pleasure(Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created—Rev 4:11),”.
But what does this mean? Was it a random act on God’s part, or did He intentionally design us this way? Is God not a deliberate Creator? Were we not created with a specific purpose in mind? Let’s look at a verse on this …It is God himself who has made us what we are and given us new lives from Christ Jesus; and long ages ago he planned that we should spend these lives in helping others. Ephesians 2:10
I’ve been contemplating the idea of purpose and fulfillment lately. Aren’t these at times missing elements in our existence that cause us to aimlessly meander through life or live a mundane existence? We thrive when we align ourselves with our Creator’s purposes for our lives. When we deviate from this path, we become misaligned, leading to confusion, feeling stuck, hopelessness, and a sense of purposelessness. Isn’t this true?
Consider identical twins; we often hear about their strong connection. At a scientific level, they probably share a unique cellular connection that enables one to sense the other’s emotions. Similarly, as humans, we were made in God’s image, and He endowed us with intuition. This intuition guides us when we stray from His intended purposes, resulting in feelings of unfulfillment. I can only imagine God, being His nature, deliberately engineered this cause-and-effect mechanism to help us recognize when we’re off course.
So, it boils down to this: our fulfillment in life is intricately tied to our purpose, and both are aligned with God.
Let’s refocus on two fundamental reasons for our creation:
—to bring glory and honor to our Heavenly Father
—and to serve one another.
Could these two things be our primary purpose on Earth? And when we neglect them, do we become unfulfilled, misaligned, and feel a sense of incompleteness? It’s worth contemplating.
I’ve realized that when I strive to live righteously and choose holiness, it brings me profound joy, and helping others brings unparalleled satisfaction. I may sound exaggerated, but if you’ve ever assisted someone in dire need, you’d understand there’s no exaggeration.
My prayer for you—is that you return to a place where God is foremost in your life, as Matthew 6:33 advises (and he will give them to you if you give him first place in your life and live as he wants you to), and that you extend your hand to those in “serious” need. Experience the transformation it can bring to your life.
Sending you lots of love and abundant light.”
