Are You Safeguarding Your Future?

The more I see what is happening around me, is the more I recognize the importance of prioritizing and ensuring that I safeguard my future. As Christians, there is an abundance of things that are outside of our control but having a say in how our future plays out is not one of them. I am pretty sure you can see where I am going with this.

Are you loving the world you are living in today? You see, while we carry on with our lives, there are many signs around us that we must heed and should cause us to think about how we are living. Things that point to people becoming self-centered. Not taking care of each other. False prophets. Prophesies which are incorrect and not of God. The prevalence of distractions, and more. Do these things cause you to cling more to God, wanting direction from The Holy Spirit, or do you turn a blind eye, then carry on?

My daily experiences make me want to remove myself from the world, the good thing is that those same experiences increase my need to be aligned to what God says about me. I am prompted to look within, wanting to proactively do my part in safeguarding my future. And I can do that because of the truths found in the Bible.

All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God. 1 John 4:15 NLT.

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me…
John 10:27‭-‬28 NLT

It’s not easy to live in a world that demands our attention. A world filled with the things our flesh craves and a world that satisfies our worldly desire, and here is why we must prioritize if we want to safeguard our future. We must make God, our main thing, be the main thing.

In the Bible we read “So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.”
Galatians 5:16‭-‬17 NLT

Here’s the thing, we must not take for granted (especially as Christians) that we are okay and that our future is secure, the enemy is desperately trying to get us to live contrary to God’s design for our lives. We must recognize this and begin to put our affairs in order. We cannot sit back thinking we are okay.

Here are 4 ways we can safeguard the path to eternal life.

  1. Stay connected to Christ through God’s word.
  2. Praying- take the time to read the book of Ephesians that states how important prayer is and what it can do for us.
  3. Forgive quickly and easily.
  4. Submit and Surrender to God. Know that only His way is the way.

Set your priorities in order and safeguard your eternal future. Look ahead and know that all is well and that you will be too.

Continued amazing light and love.
