My Commitment

The past couple of days have not been the easiest for me as I look towards a future that I know will be filled with challenges, that is a given. What I also know is that they can be days that are immensely rewarding; because of choices I have committed to making to ensure that they are days of quality and not quantity.

I try to run away from what my heart tells me. That my purpose is to encourage those who feel downtrodden; simply because I believe that my words of encouragement rise from a place that suggests that life is always heavy. And I know it can be quite the contrary simply by how we choose our thoughts. And yet, I cannot help but write from a place of overwhelm.

The truth is, there will always be people who are just stuck in this place of overwhelm. No matter how they try to have firm faith or try to be stronger than the things they face; or put on a brave face for others. The simple truth is that life for them is what it is – overwhelming. And it is okay because God uses people like myself as a vehicle of encouragement. If you are that person, you are in the right place.

“For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” Isaiah 41: 13

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence is in him.
They will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit.” Jeremiah 17: 7-8

And so what can I say but to trust in God and His might. Put your confidence in Him.

The bible confirms that we will never be free from things that causes us anguish because we live in an imperfect world. We look at others and it seems like their lives are perfect and the operative word here is “seems”. But think about it, do we even know what takes place behind their beautifully crafted perfect door? Even the best of us have to deal with difficulty. I believe once we understand this we will realize that we are not alone in our struggles. Yes, some of us bear more than others, and yet, we must not compare.

As Christians we must labor in our belief and faith in God to move the mountains in our lives and even if He chooses to not move them, we then believe He will give us the strength to handle them. At the end of the day our focus must be on the fact that God is Good irrespective of the things that overwhelm us.

Sometimes tragedies involving saints have to take place to allow and help us who live in spiritual darkness to be brought back to light. As hard as it is to fathom, when tragedies occur that we cannot understand we return to that place of love where we cling ever so tightly to God, making him first place in our thoughts. God is so awesome. He alone brings peace to things that would otherwise confuse us.

Jacqueline Johnson

And this is just the absolute truth, none of us is fail-safe against tragedies, disappointment, hurt, indecisiveness, poor choices etc. We are not and so we must absolutely cling to the truth of who God is to us and who we are to Him…

Unless it is that we do not know…

Be encouraged today – Prayer is your place of power and your place of strength. Trust in your Knowledge of Christ and all that He is to you! And all will be well.
