Sunday Inspire – Wait On The Lord.

Wait on the Lord

Sometimes it takes a significant amount of energy to wait on God. To believe in what he has said about you and where he is taking you.

Many times I have questioned God’s purpose for my life. I have second guessed because I am not seeing anything in sight that remotely equates to the vision He has given me of my life. I refuse to acknowledge that story of Joseph and how it took him many, many years before there was any sign that his dream would be a reality. The many hardships he went through even to the point where I wonder how he survived… tossed in a well for death, imprisoned even when he made correct choices. I wonder why, I refuse to accept that maybe I too will have to go through some things and man have I…

But why do we have to wait?

It seems irrational to me in my immaturity. It seems unnecessary to me… in my innocence to the realities of the real road to God. I don’t want to go through anything says my rebellious spirit. Have I not done what you said? Accept Christ… says my prideful self.

But wait we must… and in the wait there are many things that I need to go through, and as I grow I accept everything that I once did not want to. The truth of the matter is that in order for God to renew a right spirit within us there are many attitudes and beliefs about ourselves that needs to go for us to have a true appreciation of who we will become. We also have to have an appreciation of who we were. And so there are lessons that we will learn that will show us these things.

God cannot pour new wine into old wine skins and so we have to be changed via learning and acceptance from the inside out. And so we must wait.

We must wait on the process and it may take 40 years, no one knows, but it can take even longer when we resist the process. When we keep going back to doors that were closed. When we keep moving with our emotions and distorting truth. When we resist the process. When we take matters into our own hands. When we do not listen for the voice of God. When we deliberately close Him out because we know He’s going to tell us to do something that does not sit well with us. You know when you want to go to the party or that phone call with someone from the past but God is saying don’t do it. And you say, really God and go do it anyway.

…. I know what I’m talking about. Let me be real… we are all sinners. But we can strive to truly not be. We can strive to hold on to Jesus so when the temptation comes we move past it choosing the higher road.

Let me tell you something else. Satan is not your friend. Satan does not wish you well. The others that have embraced Satan may seem like a lot is happening for them but, it’s just for a time. The Bible tells us in Job 27:17 that “what he lays up the righteous will wear and the innocent will divide his silver”.

So understand that as we wait (verb) everything is coming together as it should. So just wait.

Lots of light and amazing love.
