Matthew 6:19-20 (TLB)
“Don’t store up treasures here on earth where they can erode away or may be stolen. Store them in heaven where they will never lose their value and are safe from thieves.
What if one day, you wake up and life as you know it ends.
What do you do?
How about this thought – what if all that you have invested in for most of your life suddenly goes…
You would not be the first and I assure you that you would not be the last.
Our lives can easily be here today and gone tomorrow because tomorrow has no guarantee. Disaster can strike and all that you have can go instantly. It does not have to be a physical disaster; it could be a financial one. Again, what do you do?
…and so I remind you of what is said in Matthew 6:19-20 which instructs us to not focus on the treasure that is available for us to accumulate here on earth, the things that can easily be destroyed – our cars, houses, status etc. Instead our focus should be on love, hope, peace, joy within, eternal life those things that are perpetual.
What is your focus today?
Is it on what really counts and allow your sanity to remain intact – such as, faith, even when everything else is gone.
My prayer today is that your heart and mind stir towards what truly counts – first. The rest are simply add-ons that enhance your life, but, should not be your life’s focus.
I pray that as we move forward we attach ourselves to what is above and not on what is below.
Tomorrow is not promised so make today count. Make right decisions.
Lots of love and light!
