I feel compelled to share this post today because I think we all need this reminder. I need it because I have been doing some introspection lately and I know I have been coming up short in this area of love. I do not need to look around too hard and I see that the world in general is coming up short too. I know sometimes we are forced to be this way, because of our circumstances and also what we see going on around us. This world can quickly force us to become selfish by withdrawing and just pretty much securing our space lest intruders enter.
I want to encourage us however and say that love has no fear except the fear of God and so we have to be mindful of the needs of those around us. Love is the foundation of all things; love covers and protects everything. If we do not have love then, life makes no sense and living makes no sense. Now, I am not going to kid myself into thinking that I will have all 15 things listed perfect and that is why love is not a noun it is a verb. It is something we have to keep at.
So read on and see which of these 15 things you possess and which you need to double up on, in any event we need to keep at all of them! Good luck and be blessed –

- Love cares more for others than for self.
- Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
- Love doesn’t strut
- Doesn’t have a swelled head
- Doesn’t force itself on others
- Isn’t always “me first,”

- Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others
- Doesn’t revel when others grovel
- Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth
- Puts up with anything
- Trusts God always
- Always looks for the best
- Never looks back, but keeps going to the end.

I love what 1 Peter 4:8 says “Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love makes up for many of your faults”…
…and here is where my security lies.
