Gratitude as a way of life.

Gratitude consists of being more aware of what you have, than what you don’t. –Unknown.

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow. –Melody Beattie.

I believe that life can be the most beautiful thing if we get the formula correct. What is the formula of life you may ask? I believe that the formula of life is made up of different components. I believe living daily with gratitude is one of those components. Gratitude opens us to life’s abundance. Gratitude opens us to the fullness of God’s immeasurable blessings. Gratitude shapes how we think. Gratitude helps us to accept our lives in the present moment. Gratitude fosters good relationships. Gratitude keeps us grounded and humble. Gratitude allows us to love ourselves. Gratitude forces us to love others. Gratitude brings peace and stability to our heart and mind. Gratitude opens heaven’s doors to us.

All of our gratitude should be directed to God first and foremost and then to others.

The greatest gratitude we could possibly express to God is that of being grateful for the sacrifice of his Son Jesus Christ. This indescribable act has allowed hope to enter our lives. It has removed the fear of death and replaced it with eternal life. We ought to be grateful for this. Another act of gratitude that I attach considerable importance to is being thankful that we arise each morning. We ought to be thankful to be alive. Each morning gives us an opportunity to make the past remain where it is. Each morning gives us an opportunity to press on and improve on yesterday.

Psalm 50:23 says “the one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies me; to one who orders his way rightly I will show the salvation of God.

The one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies me. Expressing gratitude honors God. If this is what God is saying to us, it tells me that God likes when we give thanks, he considers it as us glorifying him. Who would want to miss this opportunity?

Let us endeavor together to remember to express our gratitude. Let us together make this expression a lifestyle and not something we do as our breakthroughs come. We should always be thankful irrespective of our circumstances good or bad.

Some quotes on gratitude.

You say grace before meals. All right. But I say grace before the concert and the opera, and grace before the play and pantomime, and grace before I open a book, and grace before sketching, painting, swimming, fencing, boxing, walking, playing, dancing and grace before I dip the pen in the ink. –G.K. Chesterton.

How wonderful it would be if we could help our children and grandchildren to learn thanksgiving at an early age. Thanksgiving opens the doors. It changes a child’s personality. A child is resentful, negative—or thankful. Thankful children want to give, they radiate happiness, they draw people. — Sir John Templeton.

Thanksgiving to God is an exuberant response to giving me HIS everything . . . by giving Him MY everything. –Martha Kilpatrick.

I rest my case.
