I will send you a bible verse daily for reflection

Documenting a 40 day journey as we begin the Lent Season, a season where we commit ourselves to being in the presence of God and denying ourselves so that we will be strengthened in our spiritual journey. We will meditate on a bible verse daily and apply it to our lives.

DAY 1 17/02

Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

Matthew 4:1

DAY 2 18/02

“Yes, come,” Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus.

Matthew 14:29

DAY 3 19/02

Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:7

DAY 4 20/02

Read this devotional that accompanies today’s verse

DAY 5 22/02

In a world where success is so important yet seemingly elusive, you are encouraged to commit all you do to the Lord. It means you should seek understanding and the assurance that your desire is aligned to your Father’s will for you so that success is yours!

DAY 6 23/02

It is the norm for us to measure another’s capabilities based on appearance, action and other criteria. It is God’s will for us to be like Him and see beyond the physical straight into the essence of who we are. It is not in our strength that our capabilities lie but in how God will equip us for the things we may feel we are incapable of.

DAY 7 24/02

Is God calling you today to do something mighty and you are questioning yourself. Go ahead and question, but understand that we do nothing on our own accord. God who calls us, equips us mightily and gives us Spiritual confidence because he knows we can never do what he calls us to do with our self-confidence.

DAY 8 25/02

DAY 9 26/02

As we reflect on this passage of scripture may it resonate resoundingly that we are not our source, we are not our who we need. In a world where we are encouraged daily to dream big, to act, to do, we can be misled into thinking that we are all sufficient. When you face uncertainty, look to him. He will give you the needed direction. This is where your peace also comes from.

DAY 10 27/02

When we become children of God we take on a new life. This simply means it cannot be Business as usual. We have changed and therefore we should demonstrate that.

DAY 11 01/03

In Celebration of Woman’s month – We are special to Our Father and when He promises He will deliver. We must exercise our faith through believing and receiving even without the evidence. That is where our blessing lies.

DAY 12 02/03

DAY 12 OF 40 DAYS OF LEANING INTO CHRISTAs Christians it is sometimes hard for us when we find ourselves struggling, we begin to question ourselves and God especially if we believe we are doing all that we can. In moments like those I encourage you to do as the verse says and also to look back to 5 years. In looking back you will be able to see all the answered prayers and you will see the rewards for all of your efforts. Stand Your Ground and continue in EXCELLENCE

DAY 13 03/03

Day 13 of 40 Days of Leaning Into Christ – Today we ask the question-what is your relationship with Christ on a scale of 1-10? Have you thought about the promises attached to a closeness to Christ? When we have a relationship with Christ where there is no question about who He is to us… then there is peace, trust and a completeness that comes. It is total surrender to his will and way knowing that’s the best decision for the best life.

DAY 14 04/03

Day 14 Of 40 Days of Leaning Into Christ.
What do you believe is your ultimate need as a child of God? Is it money, people, titles, material things? We have the answer in today’s verse. As Christians our number one need is God and to be connected to God through His word. There is wisdom to guide and operate our lives in the word of God. So let us not focus on anything else, let us do some deep diving into The Word that gives life.

DAY 15 05/03

Day 15 of 40 Days Of Leaning Into Christ
Why were Egyptians traveling with the Israelites? That always puzzled me…
We need to know who are around because our success depends on this very thing. Who are we surrounded by. Are they people who will build us up or are they people who will remind us of the very thing that made us weak in the first instance! Are they just there for the ride or do they really understand our purpose. Are they committed or are they in our presence as a distraction? People who are not in sync with your destiny will only remind you of a past that does not serve you.
Know the people around you… They should be traveling a similar road as you!

DAY 16 06/03

God’s character His Image will not be manifested in a life that continues to embrace the things that the world represent. He wants to separate us from the world by renewing our spirit, the essence of our character. God wants us through him to delve deep within and know and understand who we are in Christ that is the only way we will begin to allow Gods image to shine through us.

DAY 17 08/03

You were created with a purpose to do great things and so it does not matter what you may be going through, trust in God’s plan for your life.

DAY 18 09/03

…what is your purpose but to move into areas that seem daunting, to do things that are unfamiliar. To not be concerned about others opinions including your own. But only wanting to do your Father’s will which is very clear in His Words.

DAY 19 10/03

At times it is hard to determine our own identity because of the influences around us. Each of us needs to do a self evaluation based on what God has placed in our spirit. We must be guided from the inside out and we must accept and commit to our findings. That is one of the ways we will feel complete. We all have a space and place specific to us. Let us not pretend or try to be anything else.

DAY 20 11/03

There are some verses in the bible that we gloss over and I believe this may be one of them but we must understand that when we exercise discipline and allow the order of a government to prevail our lives are also ordered and we go with rules not for fear of the consequence but because it is the right thing to do. and our Father expects that from us.

DAY 21 12/03

There is nothing I need to explain or add here. Meditate on this.

DAY 22 13/03

Here is a verse for us on being resilient. I don’t know about you but me resilience is built on God. I find myself falling into worry mode in recent times and I was reminded to keep it moving… shore up my resilience. Happy weekend.

DAY 23 15/03

We cannot continue to be muzzled by our fears, we must remember God’s word and use that knowledge to elevate us into our rightful place when the storms—the hard to deal with stuff, comes along. We must know our position in Christ and also that irrespective of where life finds us – God our Father is there with us and within us through the Holy Spirit. We are not alone and we are well equipped.

DAY 24 16/03

The golden rule, and what will bring about beautiful changes to your life, another’s life and the world as we experience it. Imagine if we were all doing this… Imagine what the world would be like.

DAY 25 17/03

Jacob wrestled with the man the passage of scripture says until the morning. When the man realized how persistent Jacob was, he touched his hip, and it loosened from the socket. It was only then that the man got away from the clutch of Jacob. But guess what Jacob not only got a limp from a dislocated hip bone but he received the blessings.

DAY 26 18/03

A lot of times Christians feel they should live inferior – to themselves, form a clique, do not share and that it is a safe way – humble and pious and the Christian way. Then there is the “parable of the Ten Talents” (Luke 19) with the one servant who many of us have followed in his footsteps. Afraid to share, afraid to expand and position ourselves to help others… but what happens to those who are like that? Same thing that happened to the one servant who played it safe …

DAY 27 19/03

Let us give ourselves permission to believe that God loves us and that’s all we need, to forget our past mistakes. We have to give ourselves permission to accept that we were once in darkness but now we are in the light. We are free to live a renewed life one that accommodates only good thoughts, love for ourselves and love for others. We have to give ourselves permission to  believe that our slates have been wiped clean, no more condemnation, only the grace of God which has set us free to live our lives in the way that He intended us to live. So I will end with this word of encouragement to anyone who is going through a season of not being able to let go of past mistakes, just remember the following verse and really reflect on the words.

DAY 28 20/03

When I read this Bible verse I think about robots. Machines that rely on instructions and are without emotions, going through the motions, unconcerned about life. I got this message download and should have posted it for day 27 but decided against it because I felt it too harsh; until I was browsing IG and saw a similar message and I knew it was not coincidence, but a message that someone needs to hear. The two extremes hot and cold both have an action embedded but being in the middle (lukewarm) is not a good place to be. This was a message from John to the churches in Laodicea who knew the message of Christ but continued to live their lives unconcerned. This did not please Christ.
It is better to be cold and know nothing of your savior than to know and be lukewarm. Is that you? Understand that if there is a move of God and you are in lukewarm mode, you have not positioned yourself to receive the benefits of the move. Choose today to be “HOT” for Christ and the message of Salvation.

DAY 29 22/03

There is so much that we can unpack from this passage of scripture. So many things, but I want us to focus on verse 10 for a minute—by virtue of God’s Spirit being within us it simply means that the many questions that we ask and the many answers we seek and the many things we need to know, as Christians we simply need to get in tuned and connect with God’s Spirit inside of us and…

DAY 30 23/03

Surround yourself with People Who Will Build You Up…Simple!

DAY 31 24/03

Ever heard “do not try to open a door that has been closed’? It is for your good. Many times as Christians we find ourselves in compromising positions and before we know it, our minds have absorbed the many tricks and schemes of the enemy. There are many non-believers who are living in this manner and as Christians we cannot get caught in the trap. We must continuously  see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” Then we will remain safe.

DAY 32 25/03

Being a disciple of Christ is a call to give up self totally, OUR WANTS, OUR NEEDS, OUR DESIRES, OLD WAYS OF THINKING, FAMILY OR FRIENDS WHO WILL HOLD US BACK—the things that will run counter to God’s will for our lives. Being a disciple is not a simple call it requires a renewing of our mind, body and spirit only achieved with God’s help and us surrendering. There is no way we can represent God and continue with the same personality and way of thinking. This change does not happen overnight, patience and discipline are needed. As a matter of fact our learning and changing does not end while we are here on this earth because the only good and perfect person is God.

So baby steps are important and necessary  in this process, its unavoidable! In learning, we will need to be good scholars so we can advance to the maturity stage. In getting to maturity we have to constantly listen to God’s voice and be aware of God’s presence and the changes he requires of us and be obedient even when we do not want to be. We have to submit ourselves to the Holy Spirit (often overlooked). The Holy Spirit does for us what Jesus would do if he was still here on earth so it is important to recognize the value that the Holy Spirit brings to our lives.

DAY 33 26/03

Understand when we fully believe in God, when we trust Him with our whole being, fully surrendering He will fulfil our desires. I/my family am/are living this now as we strive daily to surrender our all, so best believe it is true.

DAY 34 27/03

In John 14:26 Jesus tells his disciples—But the helper, the Holy Spirit, which the Father will send in my name, that one will teach you all things and bring back to your minds all the things I told you. Is it not a great feeling to know that God knows your needs and made plans to accommodate those needs. Even to the point where he makes his thoughts and will for your life available through the Holy Spirit. Lean in on the Holy Spirit today, you may get the direction you have been needing or answers to questions you have longed for.

DAY 35 29/03

That tells us no matter what happens in our lives, no matter what circumstances we find ourselves in; circumstances that make us wonder where is God in the midst of whatever we are feeling, we must understand that he loves us irrespective. We might not understand, but in time we will know why things did not work the way that it should or that He may be preparing us for something that is far greater than “the little thing” that we can conjure in our minds.
Sometimes we are unable to see beyond even our own limitations, thinking that the path we have chartered for ourselves is the greatest one ever and when it is not laid before us as we thought it would we don’t understand. Let me tell you that sometimes the disappointment is because He is giving us something that is far greater. Remember that God can do exceedingly and abundantly above and beyond all that we could ever hope or imagine. So our little imagination is no comparison to what God has in store for us.
Be encouraged by that and understand that all things work together for good for those that he loves and are called by Him.

DAY 36 30/03

We must boldly show up and shine our light, committing to being who God has called us to be. It means we divorce ourselves from the way of the world. And instead, we lead from what is inside us and those things that align with God’s will for our lives.

DAY 37 31/03

I believe God has given all of us a promise of something that he wants us to use to help in furthering his kingdom and saving souls. Sometimes he gives us a hint of the promise and we assume how it should work. Remember Sarah and the promise of a son. She immediately placed God in a box by thinking the promised son would not come through her because of her age but through another woman. Thank goodness God knows us, and he makes allowances for our shortcomings. The beautiful thing however is the promise; and your promise is sure. He will remain true to the promise. Believe that, yield to him, wait on him, be faithful to him through your actions, learn what you need to learn and keep the promise in mind! Wait on Him to act.

DAY 38 01/04

If we are not strong and steadfast in todays world we may find ourselves becoming overwhelmed and lost. Our once rock solid foundation will begin to crumble. Jesus admonishes his disciples (and us indirectly) to stand firm in the midst of adversity and persecution. When we see unimaginable things take place we must stand firm in order to win at life. Today, think about the world that we live in, and STAND FIRM.

DAY 39 02/04

DAY 40 03/04

Forty Days of Leaning Into Jesus—The Ultimate! Ephesians3:20 Rest in HIM – everything you need is in HIM.
