If you could have one thing in life, what would it be?
Would it be riches, fame, power, or position?
Would it be peace, mental stability, love, or good health?
What would it be — or maybe even a mix?
Life is often what we make it. Despite what may be said, we do have control over some of our outcomes. The beauty of our lives is that they are predestined— divinely orchestrated by God Himself.
So, if you think about it, it’s really a matter of being at peace with ourselves and allowing ourselves to experience all God has already laid out for us. It’s up to us to become attuned to the experiences — good and bad — and evaluate whether our decisions align with or go against what God is trying to do in our lives.
Becoming Attuned
As we evolve, we begin to recognize what actually helps us become better people and move us toward the desires of our hearts. God gave us free will, but He also placed within us an inner knowing — a sense of what supports our soul’s well-being.
It’s unfortunate that, unlike Solomon, who asked for wisdom over riches, many of us today would choose wealth first, and maybe consider wisdom as an afterthought.
Wisdom: The Ultimate Life Hack
But wisdom is a powerful thing. That one gift alone can bring us everything else we desire — if we truly think about it. I encourage you to expand your thinking when it comes to your life. Sit with yourself. Visualize the perfect situation for you. One that makes you excited to wake up each morning and face the day with boldness.
What is that one thing? Think deeply. What is that one thing that would carry you through if the world fell apart and you were the last person standing?
Your Answer Is Waiting
As believers living in a fragile, unpredictable world, we must be able to identify what truly matters in our lives. What anchors you? What keeps you sane, safe, provided for, and deeply cared for?
You must want that.
You must seek that.
Because that is your answer.
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
— Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
Here’s A bit of reflection:
Wisdom shouts in the streets. She cries out in the public square. She calls to the crowds along the main street, to those gathered in front of the city gate: “How long, you simpletons, will you insist on being simpleminded? How long will you mockers relish your mocking? How long will you fools hate knowledge? Come and listen to my counsel. I’ll share my heart with you and make you wise.
For they hated knowledge and chose not to fear the Lord. They rejected my advice and paid no attention when I corrected them. Therefore, they must eat the bitter fruit of living their own way, choking on their own schemes. For simpletons turn away from me—to death. Fools are destroyed by their own complacency. But all who listen to me will live in peace, untroubled by fear of harm.”
Proverbs 1:20-23, 29-33 NLT
