Every morning when we open our eyes, we have an opportunity to press the restart button. To begin fresh, to start anew, and to make the changes we need to. We get the chance to choose differently, to choose wiser.
We get to choose peace in the midst of confrontations, knowing that sometimes the best thing to do is to walk away.
We can choose righteousness when tempted because we have the strength to do so, not on our own, but with the Holy Spirit empowering us.
We can choose to be kind, even to those who are the hardest to love, understanding that life is not always kind to others and we can be the exception. Remember, we do not war with flesh and blood.
We can choose to become more patient and wait for God’s timing, knowing that anything else will be a waste. We want God’s best for us more than anything.
How about choosing to think the best of others because we are all imperfect and trying our best to survive in this world. We all would like to receive the same kindness given to the woman caught in adultery—a kindness free of judgment and filled with compassion.
And what of worrying less and depending more on God’s sovereignty and providence. Life is a waste when we spend time being anxious over situations and people we have no control over.
There are so many ways we can change and become better soldiers of the cross, so to speak. By changing, becoming, and choosing God’s way over ours (through reading our Bibles), we see how much better life becomes.
Life can be easy, and it is the truth. It is up to us to decide to make better choices in line with the Fruits of the Spirit—God’s Spirit.
Lots of love and amazing light!
