Today I wake in gratitude. The Lord continuously rescues us/me from the schemes of the enemy bent on consuming us/me. It is vital for us to remain focused and committed to God’s word so in the times we will be tested, we will stand firm, with an unyielding grasp on who we are—that we are the salt of the earth, and that we are God’s righteousness through Jesus. And that in every instance of temptation, He will provide a way out, but we must also be willing to forsake our flesh and move on the path that he has laid out for us.
Many times we feel overwhelmed, but we must learn to coexist with overwhelm, not giving room and space to it, but understanding that as long as we are on a path to Jesus, feeling overwhelmed will be a part of our story. The question is, what do we do in those times? Here is the answer—we quiet down and draw closer to God.
There is a passage of scripture found in Jude that relates to Michael the Archangel having a tiff with Satan about Moses body, and Michael says; “The Lord rebuke you!” (him speaking to Satan) Jude 1:10. This statement is a powerful reminder to us, and we must not think that we are capable in and of ourselves. Imagine, Michael the most powerful angel in heaven, and he calls upon the Lord to rebuke Satan. The Lord is our strength. We must depend on him to fight our battles. His words implore us to cast our cares on him, to be silent while he fights for us, to delight in him so he can give us the desires of our hearts.
God is sovereign, and it is about time we understood his sovereignty and surrender to his will and his way. We must know that he has us all in the palm of his hands and that he will do what he wants to do. It is time we remove our focus from this (physical) world and look to our (spiritual) world with spiritual eyes so we can see the immense beauty and promises that are ahead of us.
We often hold on to what we can see when faith asks us to hold on to what we cannot see. Faith opens our lives to the things we thought impossible while the opposite limits us from enjoying everything that comes from above, and that will make our lives complete.
As we continue on this beautiful journey, my prayer is that we surrender and yield to the goodness of God. That we let go of everything that this temporary world offers and instead turn our eyes to the verse in 1 Corinthians 2:9 that tells us; “No eye has ever seen or no ear has ever heard or no mind has ever thought of the wonderful things God has made ready for those who love Him.”
Let that be your focus on your journey!
Lots of love & amazing light
