It is unbelievable how desperate this world has become; moral compass and Fear of the Lord are absent. I shake my head and laugh, not in amusement but at the incredulity of it all. So let me share where this is all coming from.

Quite recently, a particular profile of a woman on Instagram got my attention. As I perused her profile, it ministered to me, and I followed. A day later, I noticed the same individual or who I thought (at the time) to be the same person followed me back. I was a bit surprised but did not overthink it, then went on to do my daily business; the weekend came and went. Just this morning, I was once again on social media, this time Facebook or Meta as it is now called, and I came across a video of the same woman I had just days before followed, being interviewed. I watched the interview, once again impressed, and proceeded to go back and check out her IG profile once more.

After doing this and clicking like on a couple of pictures, I noticed I had a message which read.

Child of God you are highly favoured and uplifted, I don’t know you in person but God does and as I was meditating the Holy Spirit led me through your profile and ministered a vision to me around you, I see blessings from God and also more spiritual attacks, the enemies are working on holding your favour from God and they want to make sure that you amount to nothing, the Lord said you should sow a seed of faith To  JONATHAN ORPHANAGE HOME before the end of two days to attract Divine and Spiritual Breakthrough in your life and that of your family and loved ones because there is power in sowing (Deu 28:15). Now, what would you do at this point? Would you immediately contribute because you are so impressed that this person SAW YOU? Would you question, how is it possible that this person SAW YOU? Mind you, this person is a public figure, and we are usually impressed with these public figures, arent we? Speak the truth.

Most of us would probably not think about it and contribute—blindly take action without discernment.

I thank God that I came across this bible verse a while ago that reads: John 6:15 NLT – When Jesus saw that they were ready to force him to be their King, he slipped away into the hills by himself.

My interpretation of this scripture was always twofold, one, it was not his time to be crowned King yet, and two, he did not need people to put him up on a pedestal (He knew himself), and we should not be putting people up on pedestals either. We need not crave the attention that may lead us in the wrong direction and cause us to take the wrong course of action. We must be unemotional and clear-headed to exercise spiritual discernment.

Back to the story:

So I immediately thought it unorthodox for her to reach out in the way she did and my skepticism and humility served me at that moment as I read. I first said—why would she single me out? 

Lo and behold, as I looked closer and observed the name, I realised it was incorrect, a telltale sign of a cloned profile. And so I did further search and found out that the profile that reached out to me was a clone and a scam. 

How can people get to the point where they have no fear of God and so will use spiritual references to obtain money from individuals without spiritual discernment and who are caught up in the “need to belong.”

And so I say Spiritual Discernment Is A Must For Every Christian.

Wikipedia explains spiritual or Christian discernment as a decision-making process in which an individual makes a discovery that can lead to future action. In the process of Christian/ spiritual discernment, God guides the individual to help them arrive at the best decision. 

God Guides. It is an awareness guided by a direct relationship with Christ which grounds who we are as His People.

Fellow believers, when you have a relationship with God your Father, you will walk with knowledge and constant protection from distractions, smokescreens, and challenges, they are not completely eliminated but you will detect them easier, and be able to influence your actions and reactions when they do come your way. We are in a battle, but it is not ours, and it’s already won. All that is required is us knowing Jesus, accepting Him, and walking in His will armed with knowledge and truth simply because we have a relationship with him that causes us to not only know about Him, but, KNOW HIM!.
