On Christ The Solid Rock I Stand All Other Ground is Sinking Sand
For he alone is my safe place. His wraparound presence always protects me as my champion defender. There’s no risk of failure with God! So why would I let worry paralyze me, even when troubles multiply around me?
Psalm 62:6 TPT
I was a bit pensive as the words of this song popped into my mind and as I considered how to share on an important topic that many of us will not attach importance to. And I am not knocking anyone; please allow me to say that I understand how life can be as we go through, taking care of all that we have to take care of whether we are working moms or stay at home. Because now that I pretty much fall into the latter category, I realise I am just as busy as I was when I had a nine to five. Without structure and a definition of how we want to spend our lives, we will often find ourselves going through the motions daily. We find ourselves way more reactive to situations that will occur daily rather than being aware of what is happening and take control.
Sometimes I refer our lives to a matrix because as I see the degeneration of the world and I am amazed that WE could allow all that is happening around us. And whether we believe it or not, it is US. What we see happening around us today is a result of power, control, greed, lack of respect for ourselves, laziness, corruption, misplaced values, and so much more. We have lost control in the midst of being told to take control. But I believe we can take back control on an individual basis. It is hard to see it happening collectively, and I would not even go down that road—it is far gone, and the world today is what it is.
You and I, however, can begin to reject the sinking sand that has become the world. Do you agree with me on that? Would you not see the world as sinking into an abyss where there is no return? I look at how females (we) have allowed ourselves to lose sight of who we are and have given ourselves over to self-gratification. We have forgotten how to see ourselves as God sees us. But all of that can change when we think on the caption—Solid Rock or Sinking Sand (referred to as quicksand here); which is it for you?
What is it for you, really? What are you choosing for yourself, and what is important to you? In a world going nowhere, where is your safety? Visualise yourself sitting on a rock and surrounding that rock is quicksand. Would you not stay on that rock for as long as it takes because your safety and survival are guaranteed? So the question again is, in a world that resembles quicksand, one that is seemingly pulling us under, what is your escape? What guarantees your survival through to eternal life? The solid rock, right?
On Christ The Solid Rock I Stand All Other Ground is Sinking Sand, For he alone is my safe place. His wrap-around presence always protects me as my champion defender. There’s no risk of failure with God! So why would I let worry paralyze me, even when troubles multiply around me?
There is no risk of failure with our feet planted on the solid rock. Even when the sinking sand (world) surrounds us, worry will not paralyse us, because Christ our rock and champion, is our safe place.
Before I go, I wanted to share three simple ways to stand on Christ the Solid Rock.
- Pray. Prayer allows you to remain aligned to God’s will for your life. Staying in God’s will brings to us blessings that exceed living itself. It is the way of life for us as Christians, a way of life that causes us to operate with wisdom, to be proactive and not reactive to things we will encounter. Just remember, praying is not only talking to God, but it is also listening to Him.
- Trust God. Sometimes as we go through life, we encounter situations that overwhelm us or leave us not understanding. In these times, remember to lean not on your own understanding. Keep in mind His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not ours. And so, while we may not know the plan, He does. Trust Him.
- Live righteously. Yesterday I was reminded to shore up places of vulnerability in my life that the enemy could exploit and cause me harm. We must be careful about how we live; in some areas, we may be doing okay, but in other areas—the grey areas, not so well. Those areas that we take for granted. That indulgence that we know that we should not partake in. Or not apologising when we are wrong. So many little things that we overlook because we think them inconsequential, allowing the enemy to take advantage of and create a harmful situation. Stay righteous.
I hope this blesses you, remember we are in the world but we are not of the world. Stay rooted in Christ, The Solid Rock.

If I present my members to righteousness it will produce its fruit to holiness. Thanks for the encouragement through this ministry.
Amen. You are right! Continued blessings as we grow together.
