Today is day 29 of 40 days of Leaning into Christ.

Today our focus is on 1st Corinthians Chapter 2 verses 10 to 12 which says “But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets. No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us.”

There is so much that we can unpack from this passage of scripture. So many things, but I want us to focus on verse 10 for a minute—by virtue of God’s Spirit being within us it simply means that the many questions that we ask and the many answers we seek and the many things we need to know, as Christians we simply need to get in tuned and connect with God’s Spirit inside of us and get the answers that we need.

So as Christians, we really do not need to be feeling out of sorts or not know our next step or not understand our life, because everything that we need to know is available on the inside of us through God’s spirit. All that is required is the connection.

The rest of the passage shares with us a known fact which is—no one knows our thoughts except us and also no one can know the thoughts of God except God’s own Spirit. But here’s the sweet part – we have received God’s spirits, and therefore if we have God’s Spirit we cannot allow the noise of outside to confuse our situation. We cannot allow the noise to prevent us from hearing about the things that we need to know and about the things that God has prepared for us.

I don’t know about you but this is so awesome to know that whatever it is I need to know, whatever answer I need, is already on the inside of me. All I need is a steady connection with Father’s Spirit so that I can know his plans for my life. Isn’t that a wonderful, wonderful revelation and so I encourage all of us who need that answer to simply quiet down and ask, then wait for the answer to come to us.
