A New Hope

Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

Hebrews 10:24-25

How do we know that our lives have significance? How do we know when we are being the light upon a hill? How do we know that we may get that pat on the shoulder that says “well done good and faithful servant”?

Earlier this month I received a text from a sister-friend, and the sum total of that text encouraged me to not give up but to stay the course. The text also reminded me that I may not immediately see the fruits of all that I do, however in time it will be manifested and once again to keep at it. I needed that text …

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Colossians 3:17

As I thought about the things we do whether on the job or otherwise, it became evident that all that we do, leads back to us. It is just a thing with us humans… ‘self’, we cannot help it. Wisdom, will remind us that whatever we do, must be done onto the Lord (see above bible verse). We will then recognize that we are doing more than we thought we were. If we remove the money reward attached (by us) to all we do, we may be surprised to see that we are spreading real value to the people who we are called to.

Not everyone will tell us how we’ve impacted their lives and once again that is not important. The important things is to shine our light so others will experience what we have found for ourselves.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:16

Once our lives are a mirror of Christ’s life on earth – as much as we can – we will not have need for the questions posed at the beginning. The “it is all about me mentality ” would no longer be a thing.

As the world continues to go through it’s challenges, let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together… but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. We need each other ALWAYS no matter how many times we tell ourselves the opposite.

We need to remind each other of THE NEW HOPE that awaits us when we choose to be the ‘light upon the hill’. Let us not get distracted by all that is happening around us but let us continue to live and love and share in HOPE that very soon all of what we are now experiencing will end.

I needed that encouragement from my sister and I can only imagine there are many others like me, so why not find a sister or a brother today to encourage. No delay!

Lots of Light and Amazing Love.
