SUIT UP WITH YOUR SUPER POWERS

In most shows containing super heroes it is always a case of good fighting evil with good prevailing 99% of the time. It amazes me that in a world where we do not believe in God and the devil, these shows seem to have gotten their story line from the reality that we as Christians believe in…weird huh. Or, is it that non-Christians will liken the shows to fairy tales, mystical happenings etc that down plays the fact that GOOD vs EVIL does exist.

That aside, the purpose of this post is not to debate whether or not good vs evil is real but to highlight what we as Christians need to be doing about continuously living our lives in a powerful way. In a winning way, because, after all our battles have already been won, but, we must remain in our superpowers and use our superpowers to fight off the constant struggle that we face everyday with evil.

In Ephesians 6 verses 10-18 we are given our superpowers – we are told it is a fight to the finish that requires us to rely on and also do the following:

… your strength must come from the Lord’s mighty power within you. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand safe against all strategies and tricks of Satan. For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against persons without bodies—the evil rulers of the unseen world, those mighty satanic beings and great evil princes of darkness who rule this world; and against huge numbers of wicked spirits in the spirit world.

So use every piece of God’s armor to resist the enemy whenever he attacks, and when it is all over, you will still be standing up.

But to do this, you will need the strong belt of truth and the breastplate of God’s approval. Wear shoes that are able to speed you on as you preach the Good News of peace with God. In every battle you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan. And you will need the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit—which is the Word of God.

Pray Earnestly

Pray all the time. Ask God for anything in line with the Holy Spirit’s wishes. Plead with him, reminding him of your needs, and keep praying earnestly for all Christians everywhere.

Meditation – Knowing & Reading Your Bible

In Joshua 1:8 (NIV)we are told to keep God’s Book of the Law (His Word) always on our lips; meditate on it day and night, so that we may be careful to do everything written in it. Then we will be prosperous and successful.

His word is one of our superpowers – “The sword of The Spirit” which Hebrews 4:12 (KJV) states that it (His Word) is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Nothing and No One can defeat God’s word… can you understand what happens when we immerse ourselves in His word?

Surround yourself with People Who Will Build You Up

Proverbs 13:20 (MSG) Become wise by walking with the wise; hang out with fools and watch your life fall to pieces.

Leaning on the Holy Spirit

Romans 8:11 (MSG) When God lives and breathes in you (and he does, as surely as he did in Jesus), you are delivered from that dead life. With his Spirit living in you, your body will be as alive as Christ’s!

Believe and Have Faith

This is an incredible superpower that you have complete access to, the one that when utilised allows you to become so in-tuned with God and His promises towards you, you become untouchable against the enemy’s prowess. But like many things it is up to you to make them a part of you. Just believing and having faith in the plans of God towards you gives you a power that is undeniable.

Hebrews 11:1 Now Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. John 8:24 unless you Believe that I am who I claim to be, you will die in your sins.
