“You are an amazing person with unique talents. Have faith in your abilities.”
― Lailah Gifty Akita
Let’s appreciate ourselves for who we are and for what we bring to the table. It is so important to know yourself, not in a surface way, but in a deep and intimate way – that only you can. Where you can clearly see your limitations and in the same breath know what your strengths are. Many times we stop short at limitations (focused on keeping ourselves downsized & small) but you must understand that limitations are not a death sentence, neither are they a curse. It is God’s way of creating a world that we can all feel significant. A world where we can contribute our unique talent to benefit the whole. Imagine a world where everyone knew everything and was a master of everything…hmmm need I say more? I didn’t think so.
Understand that we all have limitations, there is not one individual who is great at everything. There will always be someone wishing they were better at something, DO NOT FALL INTO THAT TRAP. Instead, recognize and applaud the fact that you cannot allow where you are to overshadow who you are!
On the matter of downsizing ourselves, here are 2 ways to stop.
Get to know your strengths: So okay, you may not be an awesome speaker but are you the best damn organizer that allows amazing events to take place. Maybe you are not a go getter who loves the limelight but you may be that quiet yet effective problem solver. What about being dependable and helpful so much so that others will feel compelled to leave you in charge.
Appreciate what you bring to the table: Focus on and hone in on those amazing qualities, stop spending time trying to be who you are not. Appreciate the fact that you are the way you are for a reason. And know that you fit perfectly in God’s bigger and complete picture of our lives! Believe in yourself and the contribution you must make.
You are amazing! Begin to appreciate that about yourself! Once you do you will begin to see how you can get those great qualities at work for the good of others! Ask God to show you and use you at the right time and in the right place.
You are amazing right where you are! Believe that!
