Joel 2:25(KJV) And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the canker-worm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.
Not sure why it took me this long to share this with you but as I sat quietly and thoughtfully on New Year’s Eve this one word came into my mind – canker-worm. It prompted me to do a bit of research because I vaguely know of the scriptural verse that speaks to a canker-worm as seen above.
The question now is what about the canker-worm.
A canker-worm/locust is a pest that eats away at trees or any other thing that it is attracted to. I will not get into the details however, the resounding message is that – it takes away rather than give.
If you think about it, many of us – no fault of ours, (sometimes it is allowed) – have had canker-worms in our lives.
A worm (figuratively) eating away at our life, our essence, our situations and at our experiences that should really serve us and help us to live according to God’s purpose and His desire for our lives.
As we start the New Year I encourage you to reflect on your life and your particular situation- understand that irrespective of where you are in life – there may be something that is missing. Something that was taken away from you and you need it back. Know that whatever it is God is more than willing to restore it. He wants us to believe in Him and hold onto the fact that He restores situations. Bad marriages, job loss, broken homes, wayward children… whatever it is, He will restore that thing that the canker-worm has eaten away from you. You need to just believe.
2017 continues to be a year of Restoration and New beginnings.
It is a Year that will contain a lot of emotional ups and downs but at the end it will be clear that God is working on our behalf as He always does if we allow Him to.
Go into the New Year expecting to continue to build on last year… expect the annihilation of the canker-worms in your life. Start with identifying what has been taken from you only then will you appreciate what is to come.
Much love and abundant light for 2017 as we continue on this journey together!
Here at GIFY we more than believe in you and your greatness but most of all we join with you in expectation knowing that our God is all we need!!!
Have a Magnificent Year….
Thanks for the encouragement Samuel…
