Many times I find myself hiding behind the concept “I’m only human” but the truth of the matter is this, while that may be true; as human I am given an innate ability and instinct that most times ring out loudly the right way pretty much in every circumstance. I think I can safely say the same goes for you.
The problem is that the right way that comes clearly may be too difficult or hard or intangible and that makes it hard for us at all times to make right choices.
We are called to do right no matter what, because the right way will always give peace of mind in the end. I remember as a child my mom always drilled in me “whatever you do in the dark will always come to light.” I believe choosing the wrong way is always shady or dark and in the end it most definitely will come back to “haunt” us.
If we are walking in the way of the Lord it reasons that we should always, always do right no matter what as told in Galatians 6:9. The promise is that we will reap a harvest of blessings. It may not come when we need it but it will come when we need it 🙂 and that is always the right time.
Today I encourage you to not focus on the present only. Sometimes we are called to expand our vision and look beyond the here and now. I remember the late Dr. Myles Munroe saying “consequences are more important than decisions.” I believe that when we focus on the consequences we will oftentimes end up doing the right thing. This I believe is because we would have taken into account the far –reaching effects of our actions and not only its impact on us but on others as well. Incorporating others in our actions will open us up to making better choices. We will choose to do right because it will no longer be about us but it will also be about someone else.
