Your call to a higher service helps you to discover yourself and helps you to understand what your likes are. It points to the simple things you can spend hours laboring over and at the end of it all not realize that time has passed because you were having so much fun. If you spend most of your time watching the clock and counting the hours, chances are you are not pursuing God’s call for your life. Something to think about!
Discovering yourself starts with finding God and developing a relationship with him. It’s relying on him to remind you of where you once found beauty and peace and how you can use that discovery, your call, to help others while also earning your keep. The job you are performing right now may well be what you are called to do, however, sometimes our jobs become monotonous. We may become so overwhelmed by other events in our lives that we lose focus. Before we realize it, the joy we once had is lost.
The call to a higher service puts us in a joyful frame of mind that creates harmony and allows us to operate at a level that enables us to enjoy every aspect of our life while simultaneously letting us be of service to others. If you are like me, someone who had to make a drastic change and launch out into the unknown, it may seem daunting to think about earning an income doing some unconventional things. But don’t doubt yourself and your ability to be creative while earning! Everyone can earn an income from their creativity when they align their vision with reality. When you achieve perfect alignment, you will be surprised at how much clearer things seem, how the path you need to follow becomes visible. So many different thoughts and ideas will come to the fore.
That doesn’t mean you won’t get stuck. We all get stuck in places that tell us to stop dreaming. Then the feelings of inadequacy return. Be prepared. It is inevitable, because self-doubt is second nature to those who have never answered the call to a higher service. They never answered, because they cannot see themselves in a place where they are happy and doing what they enjoy, living the way God intended, as much as they want it. Instead, they give in to other people’s agendas. This crushes their spirit and the energy that once told them they could be all they wanted and needed to be.
