If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Have you ever stopped to ponder on the immense mercy of God the Father? Always ready to forgive His people who cry out to him. He says “if my people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land”.
The unfathomable and tremendous power to forgive that we take for granted. I always say ” thank goodness God is not like man”. When I view situations, especially among family members who hold a grudge against each other, not willing to let go, building up bitterness and hatred within, holding onto it like a miser his money – it is ridiculous when you think about it.
If God has been merciful to us over and over again why can’t we be to each other? Is He not our example?
If my people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. That is all He asks us to do – return to Him, he gives us numerous opportunities to return to him. Some persons get a lot, some not enough but nonetheless his mercy towards us cannot go unnoticed. As soon as we fall into a predicament (and sometimes He intentionally allows us to be in a certain situation just so we can experience his mercy), he forgives. Giving us an opportunity to return to His love.
Are we taking heed? Are we recognizing and appreciating that daily – it is His readiness to forgive that keeps us going and allows us to have life. That it is the mercy of Jesus’ sacrifice that allows God to patiently look on us – always ready to forgive.
Let us take heed, let us think about the many times he has forgiven us and extended his mercy towards us. Let us acknowledge and appreciate it, thank him for it and with a changed heart and attitude of thankfulness give him our heart forever … Let that be our desire.
If my people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
God’s mercy is undeniable let us acknowledge it and really turn from our wicked ways…
As an apostle that I love listening to says – sin is not in style anymore. I have to agree we must come to a place where we recognize what is happening in our world and our need to live for Jesus!
