None of us are born perfect, we all have to go through a process of what I will simply call becoming. It is needed to ensure that we learn the different stages of life that is necessary for us to become fully functional human beings. We can liken it to what the caterpillar goes through – the stages of transformation (metamorphosis) within the cocoon that allows it to emerge as the butterfly with purpose. Like the butterfly we too have to go through the process to become.
Nobody said change is easy, it is not, but it is necessary. If you think about it, can an adult do baby stuff? I did not think so either, it would not seem normal. We need to yield and open ourselves up to the lesson that is taught, only then will we learn and become who we need to be.
So embrace change, embrace process, remember Paul in the Bible? He had a thorn in his flesh and when he kept asking God to remove the thorn eventually God had to tell him that his grace is sufficient for him to handle the thorn in his flesh. Paul opened himself and embraced his thorn to the point of welcoming it, he realized it kept him grounded and that was his lesson. Let us learn from Paul to embrace the obstacle or challenge and know that it’s the grace that God provides that will carry us through.
His grace is sufficient!
