The day we begin to truly appreciate and love ourselves for who we are, see ourselves and the beauty that we possess, understanding ourselves and the fact that God made us unique to fit into the grander puzzle of life…will be the day we find our true identity. Not until our wisdom is developed to accept that we are good the way we are and that we are not just 1 in a million but 1in 500 million, not until we accept and understand these truth in our lives will we stop searching for our true identity. Not until we know these things will we stop seeking the world to validate us.
Know your true identity; you are not your job title or the qualifications that your degrees confirm. You are not where you live or the friends you surround yourself with. You are not your earthly father’s name given to you at birth. We are quick to say these things when asked “who are we”, we hide behind these things and put them before us using them as a crutch and support that keeps us standing. What if they are all taken away one day then who will we be?
You are your heavenly father’s child made in his image and likeness. You are what he says you are first and foremost. When all the physical is stripped away then your true identity comes forth. The day you accept Jesus as your Savior is the day your identity comes through. When the entire facade is removed then you will know your true identity. As a very prolific teacher of the word said, when all those spermatozoa were racing towards that one egg – 500 million little ones trying to become…God singled you out and said I want that one to come forth… You are here for a reason.
He chose you out of 500 million; you are not just one in a million but one in 500 million. You are special. You are His, you are valued, you are esteemed. Start living your true identity today!
