Galatians 5:22-23 (TLB)
But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control…
Happiness is the car, house, titles, letters behind our names, money in the bank and everything we work hard at getting. Joy on the other hand can never be bought when we combine all the money in the world and can easily be had when we look within us and consciously understand the type of life we were created to live.
We can be happy and still the most miserable human beings in this world as happiness is fleeting and does not last. Joy on the otherhand enables us to remain upbeat even in the worst situations because we understand who we are. Joy transcends us and keeps us lifted. Joy is us being authentic and true to who we were made to be… Kindness to others… Graciousness and humility, being tolerant of those we see as different. Joy enables us to exercise self control in a hostile world and be faithful in all situations when the flesh cries otherwise. Essentially Joy will be our experience when we live the fruits of the Spirit.
Your Affirmationn – Smile and Say: I choose Joy over happiness, I live the fruits of the Spirit daily.
