Train up a child in the way he should go [teaching him to seek God’s wisdom and will for his abilities and talents],
Even when he is old he will not depart from it.
This is my 13 year old status on his phone : If God “got” us , we are going to be alright! Of course I had to translate a bit because he said it in the young people’s slang, but, I share this because there are times I wonder if I am getting through to my children. Seeing the message also helped me because I saw it in a time when I needed it for myself – to know that God “got” me and I will be alright.
Very often we feel that our young people, our children are not hearing and that they cannot identify with us but as I talked with him and encouraged him, I realise that they do hear us. It may seem like they are caught up with all that’s happening around them and their desire to have the things of the world and the fact that they do things causing us to cringe at times, but, they are still listening and are hearing.
We have to keep talking to them , spending quality time with them, living our lives as an example to them. Our young people, our children are very aware of the times and I believe with constant attention and encouragement, they will make right choices allowing them to become God’s light in this world.
Your Affirmation: Smile and Say – I will live my life as an example to all children. Then they will become God’s light in this world.
