Daily Affirmation – Shine for others.

Have you ever had a situation that caused you to want to go away, to disappear from having to deal with anyone and anything? I think at some point we all face this and what is our usual reaction? If you are like me, you give in and you try – if even for a minute.

I recently had such a moment and I had to take control and remind myself that I cannot hide but if I face the mountain it has to go away through faith and action. I am also reminded of the Marianne Williamson poem where it says:

“Your playing small does not serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same”.

We have to rise above the situations not for ourselves but for others, if we shrink (play small) and hide – to disappear, where will the testimony be? How will we unconsciously give someone else the encouragement – the permission to rise above their situation and shine? How will we manifest the glory of God within us if we do not give him a chance to work in our lives?

Ultimately our lives need to be an example and testimony for others to know they can shine too and be more than their situation.

Your Affirmation: Smile and Say – I will let my light shine so others will do the same, I will make everyone see God in me.
