I need a spiritual cleansing, a washing with the Holy Ghost.
Lately, I feel consumed and distracted by everything that is going on around me. Trying to promote my newly published book, trying to answer the needs of my kids. Trying to comfort my husband, who feels overwhelmed by a project he’s working on. Trying to keep the home together and everyone happy. Trying to, trying to. A mother’s work is never done, and it is definitely not an easy one. So here I am; ‘trying to’… because, really, that’s all I can do, ‘try to’. I have not had a minute with God in days, I do talk to him quite often amidst my ‘trying to’, but that is not enough for me, and certainly not for him.
I need a spiritual cleansing, one that reminds me that all my ‘trying to’ is inconsequential if I lose my place in my spiritual journey. Inconsequential, if God’s is no longer first in my heart, in my soul, and in my being. Who am I without the Holy Spirit? Who do I become if I quench the Holy Spirit’s fire within me? I am nothing, and I become nothing, and so, I need a spiritual cleansing.
A spiritual cleansing that washes me and leaves me feeling refreshed, with God repositioned at the fore of my thoughts. Refreshed so I no longer feel annoyed at the first instance of the 100 questions that come at me from my son. Refreshed so that I handle all situations without anxiety and worry. Refreshed so that I can see my way clear and be reminded that God has made me a conqueror through Jesus, and I need not fear the challenges that will come my way. Refreshed and in control of my personal situations and my family in a way that creates balance in my life and in theirs. Refreshed and renewed in my journey to heaven. A spiritual cleansing that narrows my perspective and returns my focus to God, who tells us in his word in Matthew 6:33 to seek him first, and then all things will be added.
That is the life I have chosen, one that requires constantly being in-tuned with the Holy Spirit, who is our guide here on earth.
Are you connected with the Holy Spirit? Are you connected with God? If not, and you would like to be, I urge you to repeat this prayer. A prayer that will allow you to have Eternal Life
Father, I believe you died on Calvary’s Cross for my sins. I believe you are the son of God sent here on this earth to save us from eternal death. I believe in you and accept you in my life as my Lord and Savior so that I can share in your eternal glory. Please forgive me of my sins, and I ask you to fill me with your grace now and forever. Amen.

my darling sister
I get the sense that u feel disconnected from the holy spirit when life happens. Remember he said he will never leave you nor forsake you. I love how the holy spirit works, he brings u right back to himself reassuring you that he is there. Refreshing and renewing your mind saying Jackie I am with you, loving you, loving your role as a mother, because I have placed you in such a high esteemed role. I gave you the words to type to share, don’t you know I know u would be in this place, don’t feel guilty because I am with you, each day is new. Continue to love on your family, I placed you there. I gave u the joy in your heart, have no fear because I am with you. I love you, I am your God, I am your king, I am with you. Thus saith the Lord. These are the words that came to my spirit for you.
Thank you Christine. Really appreciate this timely and relatable response. He will never leave me nor forsake me. He understands!!!! God bless you and the rest of the family…
