We don’t need to look far before we realize that we are our greatest enemy, our greatest obstacle and we need to get out of our way. JpJ
Some persons may disagree when I say stop blaming the devil for everything, for every bad situation that we encounter. Stop using the devil as an excuse for doing wrong…Did you know that if the devil has nothing to attack, then he cannot attack. We need to look at what we are opening ourselves to, the things we meditate on, our circle of friends, the things we watch and listen to. Perhaps “those” are the avenues that the devil is using to get to us.
So what I am saying is that we can control to some extent how the devil attacks us. I am not saying that this is absolute in all situations but for the most part it starts with us. God gave each of us freewill, he gave us the ability to choose right from wrong. We have control over our environment and the things we expose ourselves to. So if we take control of our environment to include our thoughts, then we just might be able to reduce the challenges. Believe when I say we are our biggest enemy.
The bible tells us to resist the devil and he will flee from us. That tells us everything! We should be constantly aware of what is happening with us and take charge of our actions, then and only then will we stop placing focus on the devil. We need to intentionally surround ourselves with things and people that are Godly in nature. Then we will stop placing the devil in the limelight… Then we will stop making him think he has the victory.
When we place the focus on the devil and remove God from the limelight of our lives, we are going down a road that leads to nowhere. We get depressed, we start thinking like a defeatist, we get so deep in a rut we are unable to dig ourselves out.
Let us place God at the fore of our thoughts, let us meditate on Him day and night, THEN and only then will the devil get the picture. He will know who we are, he will not try to come against us…he will flee from us!
