Purpose was created in our DNA, God did not waste his time creating “nobodies”, we were all created to make a worthwhile contribution. Why do we keep thinking we have nothing significant to contribute to the world? Are we calling God a time waster? Do we think God does things for doing sake, without a thought, like so many of us!

We were all given different talents and gifts to fulfill our purpose, but our perspective of what could possible constitute a talent or gift is greatly skewed. We do not think that our gifting could lie in simple things; we believe that life has to be a show and if we are not seen, then we are not doing anything worthwhile. I include myself in that thinking because it was made crystal clear to me when I expressed concern that I felt like I was going to waste being a stay-at-home mom. A situation that was quite opposite to the person I was before when I had a 9 to 5 job taking care of other people’s business, which really gave me no satisfaction. So, yes, it was made clear by this one answer that someone gave to me when I expressed concern; the response was “the greatest gift in life is being able to take care of your husband and children, making sure that they feel safe and comfortable and heard by someone who cares about them.” I saw clearly that I was being presented with a greater opportunity to be of value to people who count and people who needed me.  Our gifting and valuable contribution can be with those who are immediately in our circle and then it spills over into the wider community.

We are all made with purpose embedded in our DNA; God did not create us to occupy space and then go to our graves not having made a contribution to his plan. None of us are the same, none of us are alike and the same goes for the contribution we will make, it does not mirror another’s. He made us all unique with different abilities to fulfill unique purposes. So we need to wake up and stop thinking that we are incapable and start knowing that we are capable. What a big difference we would create in our lives by having a different mindset, but, I dare say our problem is that we look at what others are doing and want to do their purpose. Hello!!! It would make no sense, we would achieve nothing. Let’s stop hindering ourselves here, like I said no one has the same ability and we will all get to the same destination but in a different way.

We need not look way ahead but immediately in front of us and know that our purpose is all about us and it’s about God. It’s not about trying to measure up to someone else or the world. It’s about going about our own purpose in the way God intended, any other way will get us nowhere.

Here is a tip,  there is so much to gain by being still and tapping into God’s power. Request a one on one audience with him. Some quiet time with him. Where you converse with him and ask him to do the best in your life. You will be amazed by the thoughts that come at you. How the vision is made clear. You will be amazed at the excitement that builds within because he gives us the way and he makes it clear. We become believers, confident that we do have our own unique capability to go about our purpose in this life. We will all be inspired to start the journey.
