Staying the course – be aware & be present

Staying the course and remaining focused requires first and foremost A DECISION to do just that. This is a decision that needs to be cemented within us. JpJ

Matthew 10:16 (MSG) Stay alert. This is hazardous work I’m assigning you. You’re going to be like sheep running through a wolf pack, so don’t call attention to yourselves. Be as cunning as a snake, inoffensive as a dove.

Staying focused in 2015 FOR THOSE OF US WHO ARE DETERMINED will be difficult to put it mildly. Each of us in our own way has gotten to the point where something has to give. The enemy KNOWING how determined we are, will try to distract us from fulfilling God’s plan for our lives. He is a smart one, be aware.

The verse tells us to stay alert, be on our guard, to be steadfast and go about our business without calling much attention to ourselves. We need to be cunning but not in a way to cause any harm.

It’s a new year, filled with many opportunities to begin God’s work if we have not started. For those of us who are continuing, it gives us an opportunity to grow spiritually as the days pass. Procrastination is no longer the order of the day, so, there is increased zeal to throw us off course. Last year was a great year, and this year can only be better but we have to stay the course we have to remain consistent. We have to be habitual and intentional in our lives and in staying the course.

Be aware, be present, distraction kills opportunities. The enemy will use people who are close to us, least harmful to us and he will use situations that are hard to resist to try and get to us. Be aware, be present, so at the end of this 2015 we can rejoice in saying we did well and helped to bring our brothers and sisters into God’s kingdom. Ultimately that’s what we are here to do.
