Thirsty? Drink up God’s goodness, be restored

I enjoyed reading Isaiah 55 as it is a solid reminder of hope and restoration and a covenant to all who are thirsty and are seeking God. Isaiah 55 reminds me that God wants me happy and filled with Joy and success. It reminds me that even when I go through this life and I begin to feel less than I am, all that is required is for me to go to Him. He will restore my hope and will cause me to shine as in verses 12-13. I am also reminded that when I turn to Christ he will lavishly extend to me “the good things” that exceeds my expectations. “Things” that earthly money will never be able to buy,

God gave us all a purpose to fulfil towards one another. What we may think our purpose is, may not be God’s desire for our lives and so we need to constantly seek God and ask him to show to us what he would have us do, that in itself demonstrates the fact that we thirst after him.

In verses 9 & 11 God reminds us that his ways are higher than our ways and his thoughts are not our thoughts and so it clearly shows that he has the answers. We on earth are limited to what we see around us. We place value on what others are doing and often times we want to identify with them and want to be like them. God gave each of us unique capabilities and once we step into our purpose we will understand that we have different” things” to offer in our unique way.

The chapter goes on to demonstrate that once we seek God and allow him to bring us into our purpose we will experience wonders in our personal space like no other.

Isaiah 55:12-13 “So you will go out from there with joy.You will be led out in peace. When you come to the mountains and hills, they will begin singing. All the trees in the fields will clap their hands. Large cypress trees will grow where there were thorn bushes.Myrtle trees will grow where there were weeds. All this will happen to make the Lord known,to be a permanent reminder of his goodness and power.

Verses 12-13 shows us that when we step into our divine destiny, our lives and the lives of those around us will never be the same again.

There are many illustrations of this concept of discovering what we are called to do, and, highlights what real success in life is. Ultimately all of us want success for ourselves so why not talk to God today. Seek him and boldly ask him what he will have us do to bring Glory to His name. Let us show God that we are thirsty for Wisdom and Knowledge and Understanding. He will come through for us if we thirst after Him. Then we can rest, leaning on His strength to carry us through.

Matthew 5:6 tell us that “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.”

As Christians we will be thirsty because that is a desire within us to help us move to different levels of spiritual maturity. Let us always be hungry and thirsty for God and his word so we can step into our purpose and achieve a success in our life that is unparallel and far superior to the success that we limit ourselves to daily.

Remember, true success is not about how much money and material possessions we will acquire. It is about how well we sleep at nights, the joy we experience by helping others daily. Ultimately if our hearts are at peace because we are doing what God requires of us.
