Our God is an awesome God words cannot describe

He is seated in the heavenly realms.

He Keeps watch over us with arms open wide

He sees our folly and how easily we divide

Not acknowledging the love he willingly provide.

So he watches as we carry on, as if we alone exist

Even though he told us to be our brother’s keeper

To “do onto others as you would do to yourselves”.

To love him openly, totally, and not to display him on the shelf

In our minds, in our heart, and keep him only to ourselves.

He is there to be seen in all of us

In our actions and interactions with everyone.

He knows it is hard, he knows our nature

If only you would try, he says, it would save you from the danger

That you choose to self impose on your life that you freely wager.

Get to know me he says, I promise you will not regret it

In me you will find all you need to be filled with joy and wonder,

at the newness of everyday, appreciating my mystery.

Never needing to look into the history, of why I am that I am,

but instead, confidently dwelling  in the victory.

Affirm: Psalm 34:1-3 I will always thank the Lord;
    I will never stop praising him.
 I will praise him for what he has done;
    may all who are oppressed listen and be glad!
Proclaim with me the Lord‘s greatness;
    let us praise his name together!
