Treasures are often hidden among the rubble, only someone with an innate desire to discover newness and a need to share with the world will find them. JPJ
I am very addicted to the cable channel HGTV not because I have the natural talent to create a beautiful space but I just love the idea of transforming an undesirable space into something new. My style is really contemporary, but I find that recently I have developed a desire to incorporate a mix of different styles, an eclectic style.
Eclectic style, is simply to combine elements or particular styles from different time periods and different origins within a single project. Which is incorporating the best of a couple design to create a harmonious and sophisticated look.
This eclectic style has allowed me to venture into thrift shops and used furniture shops looking for items that are unique. Items that can be restored to give life to this style that has now become a part of me.
My first visit could have been daunting except that I had an open mind. I knew that despite the store being cluttered and disorganized, seeming somewhat like a “junk shop”, it could hold valuable pieces that could be transformed into all that I would want it to be. I got excited when I spotted an occasional chair that would go well with a chocolate brown sectional I planned on purchasing. It had the right curves and lines that captured the eyes, all it needed was some love and attention and it would turn out to be a work of art; impacting persons who would sit in it or just be able to look at it.
My visit made me aware that despite what it may seem when we first encounter an environment that would otherwise turn us off, if we remain open-minded we will find value.
Applying deeper thought and relating it to people or situations we may encounter I also came to the conclusion. That no matter how a person or situation may seem, if we take the time to dig through the clutter and the garbage and the loud noise of it all we will find value. Value that can add wisdom to our lives, value in the person that will encourage us to help or give another chance.
No person or situation is hopeless in God’s eyes. Under all the rubble and junk of our disorganized lives, there are treasures to be discovered, gems to be found. Treasuries such as Love, Hope, Kindness, Humility of Spirit and so much more ready to be discovered.
We only need to give God a chance to minister to us, to give us the love and attention that we need. Transforming us and allowing our hidden treasures to be revealed so we can impact our lives and the lives of others.
Affirm: We all have treasures inside of us no matter how the situation may seem, waiting to be discovered. I will allow God to transform me so that these treasures can be revealed. I will also seek to discover treasures in others. It is well and I am well.
