Death is feared but inevitable, so while alive let us ask each other the question – Are you saved? So when we get to the end of ourselves we are guaranteed a spot in the eternal ever after. JPJ
Why do we ask after they are gone, were they saved? As I spoke to my sister-in-law Christine this morning she shared with me the following:
“This morning I was told that a co-worker died suddenly and what came to mind was whether she was saved; and as I lay here in bed I believe the Holy Spirit impressed upon my heart this question – “Why do we ask when they are gone? I was given so many opportunities to ask and to minister to her when she was alive.”
So, is it that we are afraid to make others aware that we serve a mighty God? Or are we selfish and think that we are alone in this world? Are we like that lady I heard about who is a devout christian but afraid to “mix” with sinners. Hello? Jesus himself told us that his mission was not only for the Jews but also the Gentiles.
What are we afraid of? Maybe it’s not fear. Maybe we are too caught up in ourselves perhaps. We need to understand that Christianity is no longer looked at as a religion. It is a way of life. Just as Jesus demonstrated to all of us, he spoke to everyone, good, bad and indifferent and so should we. Our way of life should be such that whether we are at home, church, supermarket, school, work we should be reaching out to all. We should be sharing the message of Christ and what will happen when we accept him into our lives.
That is the only way we will eliminate the question – “why do we ask after they are gone?” No one knows when it is their time, and so we should never take it for granted that we have time.
It was my privilege to share this with you thanks to Christine. It is further encouragement to me and I hope whoever reads this will also be encouraged to ask “are you saved? to as many persons as possible. So that we are all guaranteed a spot in the eternal ever after.
SO LET ME ASK YOU, ARE YOU SAVED?
