Being faithful to our tasks does not come easily, it requires focus, discipline and an acute awareness of our environs. JpJ
Today is a kind of weird day for me, this is my second attempt at writing a post and for some reason the words are not flowing as I would want them to. I am trying to think why this could possibly be happening. Have I exhausted my list of what to possibly write (of course not!!!)? Am I disconnected from God who usually inspires me? I am very tempted to give in and not write and then it dawned on me that perhaps I have opened myself to the enemy and he is the one placing this wall before me. The strongest of persons can have these roadblocks at times. The strongest of us can get distracted so easily, even when we are being strong. The strongest of us can encounter situations that pushes us ten steps backward, even when we have only taken five steps forwards. What do we do? Do we give up as I was ready to do or do we remember that God asks us to be faithful in the little things even when we do not want to be so that he can give to us greater things to take care of. Read this.
(Luke 16:10 NLT) “Unless you are faithful in small matters, you won’t be faithful in large ones. If you cheat even a little, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.”
Colossians 3:23 (TLB) “Work hard and cheerfully at all you do, just as though you were working for the Lord and not merely for your masters.”
We have to remember that the things we do are not just about us, often times there is a bigger picture and it involves others who depend on us. It could be a simple task of getting our kids ready; who would they have to depend on if we were to say we can’t do this anymore. So my encouragement today is that despite how we feel sometimes remember that there is someone who is working against us, not wanting us to reach our destiny and fulfill our goals. At the same time let us keep in mind that we are a part of a bigger plan and we all have our individual roles to play in the big picture. So the next time we feel ready to give up let us just keep doing, let us be faithful in the small things so they will manifest into bigger things.
Affirm: I will be faithful in my tasks that God has set before me, if I am not feeling upbeat I will seek God’s help in making me stick to the plans he has for me. It is well and I am well.
