Keeping Life Real should not be confused with acceptance of a mediocre situation and not becoming the people of purpose that we are intended to be.
As much as I live my life now in a place of hope and trust and faith; there are days and situations that will sometimes throw me off course. Days and situations that are intent on reversing the progress of self actualization (through God) that I have chartered for myself.
I am very aware that there are persons who cannot identify with positive talk especially when they are faced with huge bills or a loved one who is sick or a frustrating situation that seems hopeless. What do we do?
The first step is:
Acknowledging that these situations are what we call life. We have to acknowledge what is going on in our life in order to fix the things that needs to be fixed. In order to let go of what we need to and feel good about what is going right in our lives – so we can be encouraged.
The Second step:
Ask ourselves – Do we want to stay where we are? Some things are outside of our control such as sickness, so consider how do I make the situation more bearable for myself and the person faced with the sickness. Do I continue to fret over it or do I pray and believe that God will handle it the best way.
We should not worry over things that are outside of our control, choose to pass it on instead through prayer. Have faith and hope that our circumstances can change by our actions.
Life is what it is and it is what we make it for ourselves, so acknowledge that circumstances will sometimes be less than what we desire. We can change those circumstances by adjusting our view of them. We can choose to stay in our state of worry, unhappiness and defeat or we can choose to let it go.
What is the perfect Life?
Is it only filled with happiness, joy and success? I believe that the perfect life here on earth is when we are keeping life real and understand that there will be good times and there will be bad times. But in every Good there is better and in ever Bad there is an opportunity to make it good…
We don’t need a perfect life to be happy and content,we do not need a perfect life to be at peace. Our perfect life is choosing to make the best of our situation and embracing faith and hope while letting go of those things that are out of our control.
Affirm: I acknowledge that life has good times and bad times. It is dependent on me how I experience the bad ; do I sit and “whine” about it or will I choose to change my experience of the bad by purposefully letting it go and welcoming faith and hope instead. It is well and I am well.
