Life is such an awesome journey, picture me sitting on my bed, legs crossed at the ankles in the solace of my room, my laptop resting on my thighs. My hands to the keyboard with my cup of green tea to my left resting there somewhat precariously on the bed because of my weight indenting the otherwise flat surface of the mattress; perhaps wondering if I don’t care that it may turn over. But I am unconcerned, all I can feel in this moment is the need to write my thoughts. The humming of the fan overhead soothes my senses. I quickly remember to practice that breathing technique that I read about recently and discovered it to be true. Breathing through the left nostrils while closing the right will calm your inner being while breathing through the right gives you energy (see more) so I pause for a minute just to do this step that I have added to my ritual of preparing to write.
I am now calmer, my senses are attuned to everything happening around me but I am not bothered by them because I am focused. The sound of the wind swishing through the trees, the airplane that just passed overhead, the noisy truck that drove pass just now. I am not bothered by them as a matter of fact I welcome them because they remind me that I live in a world that is ever moving. A world that has so much to offer to us and likewise we also need to offer ourselves back to the world by being there for each other. We need to connect to that place within that will allow us to serve the world in the way that God has destined for us. From the man in his corporate attire to the person who cleans the street. We all serve a purpose to give to each other in a way that is filled with love, humility and gratitude.
So as I begin to write my next focus I give God thanks for this moment, I acknowledge that it is through him I AM AT PEACE WITH MY SELF AND THE WORLD. As I take a sip of my tea I am all charged up and as my dear friend would say “today is important, and the inspiration is already bursting at the seams” so I begin to write.
Life is such an awesome journey.
